Hollis Medication Station ("HMS," "we," "us," or "our") respects the privacy of visitors to our Website.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we may collect when you visit hollismedicationstation.com, how we use that information, when it may be disclosed, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use the Website.

Information You Provide to Us

You may voluntarily provide personal information when you:

  • Submit a contact form;
  • Send us an email;
  • Subscribe to our newsletter or updates;
  • Respond to an HMS communication; or
  • Otherwise communicate with us.

This information may include:

  • First and last name;
  • Email address;
  • Telephone number, if provided;
  • The contents of your message;
  • Communication preferences;
  • Newsletter subscription status; and
  • Other information you voluntarily provide.

Please do not submit unnecessary medical records, Social Security numbers, financial account information, or other highly sensitive information through the general Website contact form.

Newsletter Information

If you subscribe to email updates, we may maintain information including:

  • Your email address;
  • Subscription status;
  • Date of signup;
  • Confirmation status;
  • Unsubscribe status; and
  • Technical information reasonably necessary to document consent or prevent abuse.

HMS may use a confirmation or double-opt-in process before adding an address to certain mailing lists.

Website and Technical Information

When you visit the Website, our servers or service providers may automatically receive limited technical information, such as:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) address;
  • Browser type;
  • Device type;
  • Operating system;
  • Referring page or website;
  • Pages visited;
  • Approximate date and time of access;
  • General geographic information derived from an IP address; and
  • Technical logs related to security, errors, and Website performance.

This information is generally used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Website.

2. Age-Verification Information

The Website may ask visitors to confirm that they are at least 21 years old before entering.

The age-verification system may store a browser cookie, session value, or similar technical indicator showing that you completed the age-verification prompt.

The Website age gate is not intended to collect or store your exact date of birth unless we expressly tell you otherwise.

Age confirmation through the Website does not establish eligibility to obtain medical cannabis.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Website may use cookies, local browser storage, session storage, or similar technologies for:

  • Remembering age-verification status;
  • Maintaining Website security;
  • Remembering basic preferences;
  • Preventing abuse;
  • Measuring Website performance; and
  • Understanding how visitors interact with the Website.

You may configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Doing so may cause certain Website features, including the age-verification system, to appear repeatedly or operate differently.

4. Analytics

HMS may use limited Website analytics or performance-monitoring technologies to understand:

  • Number of visitors;
  • Popular pages;
  • General traffic sources;
  • Device and browser information;
  • Website errors; and
  • General Website usage patterns.

We use this information to improve Website performance, usability, security, and content. Where practical, we seek to limit collection to information reasonably necessary for these purposes.

5. How We Use Information

We may use information collected through the Website to:

  • Respond to questions and contact requests;
  • Operate and maintain the Website;
  • Provide information requested by visitors;
  • Send newsletter or promotional communications to subscribers;
  • Manage subscriptions and unsubscribes;
  • Provide store, product, specials, or schedule updates;
  • Detect and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, or security threats;
  • Troubleshoot Website problems;
  • Improve Website functionality and content;
  • Maintain business records;
  • Comply with applicable laws or lawful requests; and
  • Protect HMS, our customers, and others.

We do not use general Website contact submissions as a substitute for a medical evaluation or professional healthcare service.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may disclose information in limited circumstances described below.

Service Providers

We may provide information to companies that help us operate the Website or our business, such as providers of:

  • Website hosting;
  • Cloud infrastructure;
  • Email delivery;
  • Newsletter services;
  • Website security;
  • Spam prevention;
  • Analytics;
  • Website maintenance; or
  • Similar technical services.

These providers may process information as necessary to perform services for HMS.

Legal and Safety Purposes

We may disclose information if we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable law;
  • Respond to a subpoena, court order, warrant, or other lawful process;
  • Protect HMS's legal rights;
  • Investigate fraud or misuse;
  • Protect the safety of another person; or
  • Protect the security of our systems.

Business Changes

If HMS undergoes a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, or other business transition, information associated with the Website may be transferred as part of that transaction to the extent permitted by law.

7. Third-Party Services

The Website may provide links to or interact with external services such as:

  • Mapping and directions services;
  • Social media platforms;
  • Cannabis information websites;
  • Embedded media;
  • External review or business-listing services; or
  • Other third-party websites.

When you interact with a third-party service, that provider may collect information under its own privacy policy. HMS does not control the privacy practices of third-party websites. We encourage you to review their policies before providing them with personal information.

8. Contact Form Privacy

Information submitted through the HMS contact form is intended to allow HMS staff to respond to your inquiry and manage related correspondence.

Because ordinary Website communications may not be appropriate for highly sensitive medical information, please avoid including detailed health records, diagnoses, government identification numbers, payment information, or other unnecessary sensitive information in a general contact submission.

Submitting a contact form does not create a healthcare-provider-patient relationship.

9. Email Communications

If you subscribe to marketing or informational emails, you may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in those messages.

You may also contact us directly and request removal from marketing communications.

Unsubscribing from marketing communications may not prevent HMS from sending a communication that is necessary to respond to an inquiry you initiated.

10. Information Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including to:

  • Respond to communications;
  • Maintain subscription preferences;
  • Maintain appropriate business records;
  • Prevent fraud or abuse;
  • Resolve disputes;
  • Protect our systems; and
  • Satisfy applicable legal requirements.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and why it was collected. When information is no longer reasonably needed, we may delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it.

11. Information Security

HMS uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information collected through the Website.

These measures may include access controls, software updates, encrypted connections, authentication protections, system monitoring, backups, and other safeguards appropriate to the Website.

No internet-based service or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Data Breach Response

If HMS becomes aware of a security incident involving personal information, we will investigate the incident and take actions reasonably appropriate under the circumstances.

Where notification is required by applicable law, we will provide required notifications to affected individuals or governmental authorities.

13. Children and Individuals Under 21

The public-facing HMS Website is intended for visitors 21 years of age or older.

HMS does not knowingly use the Website to market cannabis particularly to children or persons under 21. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children through the general public Website.

Maine law may separately allow certain individuals under 21 to qualify as medical cannabis patients under specific circumstances. The Website's age restriction is a Website-access policy and does not define eligibility under Maine's Medical Use of Cannabis Program.

14. Your Choices and Privacy Requests

You may contact HMS to request that we:

  • Correct information you previously submitted;
  • Remove you from marketing communications;
  • Update your communication preferences; or
  • Delete personal information you previously submitted when deletion is reasonably possible and not prohibited by a legal or legitimate business requirement.

Depending on where you reside and applicable law, you may have additional privacy rights. We may need to verify your identity before acting on certain requests.

Privacy requests may be submitted to hollismedicationstation@gmail.com .

15. Do Not Track and Browser Privacy Controls

Some browsers and devices provide "Do Not Track" or similar privacy signals. Because there is not necessarily a single universally applicable technical standard for every such signal, Website behavior may vary depending on the technologies and service providers being used.

You can also manage cookies and browser storage through your browser settings.

16. No Sale of Personal Information

HMS does not sell personal information collected through the Website in exchange for money. We also do not rent Website visitor mailing lists to third parties for their independent marketing purposes.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our Website, business practices, service providers, or legal obligations change.

When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy. Material changes may also be communicated through the Website when appropriate.
